It has been one week since I competed in the Wisconsin Ironman event. As you know, I came to you after I competed in the Wisconsin Half-Ironman event in June and knew that I needed to deal with a significant issue I had with open water swimming – an issue that was threatening to derail my hopes of completing the Ironman.
I am happy to report that with your help, I was able to successfully complete the event – and the swim in particular!
As we discussed, I felt great completing my swim and met my time goals for that portion of the event. Even with all the other people swimming nearby, running into me and with some slightly wavy conditions.I had some anxiety prior to the event and even a little after I did a practice swim the day before, but I was able to overcome all of that on race day and be very successful.
I used the approach we discussed on the bike portion and met my time goals as well. I had a great event.
